MechSE designs its degree programs with as much flexibility as possible so that its students can pursue as many research interests as possible. Students may choose from courses in departmental research areas such as fluid mechanics and thermal sciences, solid mechanics and materials, controls and dynamics, nanomechanics and nanomanufacturing, and biomechanics. The curriculum also allows students to count engineering courses from other departments on campus toward their degree requirements.
