University of Michigan—​Ann Arbor Macromolecular Science and Engineering

The Macromolecular Science & Engineering Program (Macro) at the University of Michigan has been a leader in the field of polymer science and engineering for nearly 45 years. Housed within the highly ranked College of Engineering, our interdisciplinary program includes students and faculty in the University of Michigan Medical School, Dental School, and College of Literature, Science, & the Arts.
Macro is an interdisciplinary program and we encourage students from a wide range of engineering and science academic backgrounds. Current students in our program have studied all manners of engineering in addition to chemistry, biology, and physics.
One of the many things that make the Macro program unique is the ability for students to tailor their academic program to fit individual interests while being trained by a diverse faculty body. Students can choose from seven course options or create an individualized option.
