Olivia Wang received her Bachelor of Management at Dongbei University of Finance and Economics in 2012, and MS in Management Science and Engineering at Columbia University in the City of New York in 2014. She did summer internship in Haier about supply chain management. Now Olivia is working as a consultant in Monitor Deloitte.

Q : How are the employment prospects of management major?

A : Management Science and Engineering major has lots of employment directions, and the program takes our career development very seriously. There are abundant resources which greatly enhance our marketability to potential employers. Our students start careers in various industries, such as consulting, financial services, energy, communications & media, real estate, logistics, start-ups.

Q : Why did you choose Columbia?

A : Apart from the well-known reputation of Columbia University, I really appreciated several other helpful parts. While preparing my application, I studied the fantastic curriculum of MS&E, which in my opinion is one of the most important value measurements of a program. At Columbia, every MS&E student is required to work on year-long consulting engagements for actual clients through Operations Consulting course. The real-world experience plays a very important role in future job searching, especially for international students. In addition, I regard business school students should consider more about the school location, vitality of the job market, and the convenience of internship when choosing target schools. In this respect ,Columbia is an excellent choice.
