  有问必答

Q : What is the overriding consideration when choosing an appropriate accounting graduate program?

A : Making choice of a suitable graduate program for oneself is always a complicated process. Many things need to be considered, such as educational background, career goal, financial affordability. Meanwhile one should also clearly know the target program's previous students' profiles and admission preference. Nevertheless, facing the gigantic information needed to know, while applying for an Accounting related program, most important of all, I wish you know Accounting has a feature of strong practice. Therefore, you need to demonstrate your professional practical abilities during the application. Besides, no matter a doctoral student or an undergraduate, as long as you want to work in the accounting profession, you have to pass The Uniform CPA Examination. So from this perspective, university's ranking is less valued, you should think more whether the curriculum content is beneficial for passing the CPA.

Q : Now, you have married with your Mr. Right who are an American and have lived in America for several years, what's the most unforgettable thing in your experience?

A : American parents are really “cruel-hearted”. My husband lives in a classic Middle American family, and both of his parents are University Professors. However, when my husband chose a university, his first consideration is the tuition fee, because he had to pay tuition fees and living expenses all by himself. Once an American student reached adulthood, parents won't give money to his child. Though his excellent grades allowed him to be admitted to a world-famous university, he chose a local university as it's cheaper. When I heard about it, I didn't quite understand. However, he took for granted doing this. On the contrary, many of my friends in China still accepted her parents' money even though they have started to work. It seems that our Chinese parents are more generous. But which one is better for children? Exactly so-called: Different people have different views.
