Working in passion of developing efficient media strategies and data analytics for a variety of projects, Junhao Zheng thrives to become a full-stack marketer along his career path. After completing the dual undergraduate degree in International Business & Business English in Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, he is now a second-year graduate student majoring in Integrated Marketing in New York University. He supports himself in New York by taking digital marketing internships and running his own business. Junhao Zheng has been overseas-study consultant for two years, helping plenty of students take their first step in American life.

Q : Based on your application experience, what capabilities or skills should our students focus on while applying for a postgraduate program in Integrated Marketing?

A : Integrated Marketing is a new concept in marketing industry. Different from the traditional marketing like setting ads in TV and Radio, Integrated marketing running campaigns based on various platforms, especially via Internet. So, the first and also the most vital skill is multi-tasking. You should be a quick learner and full of enthusiasm to acquire new knowledge since the industry is changing every minute. Also, outstanding communication skill and logical thinking are needed. Candidates not only require effective interpersonal communication skills while doing case study and practical work, but also the capability to understand the insight behind data and campaign performance.

Q : Could you introduce your work as a Media Planner in New York University?

A : Sure. Here starts my career path in New York and I always cherish the opportunity to get the job while spending my second month in the United States. As a media planner, I mange 9 advertising media plans and maintain each campaign is running effectively, which include confirming specs and budgets for each media project. What's more, I am responsible for developing monthly and full-campaign performance analyses to our clients. That needs the capability to run plenty of data in Excel and analytic tools and gain insight from them. Last but not least, as a coordinator, I spent half of my time collaborating with other teams in the office to optimize media plan strategies so that attracting more prospects to apply New York University.

Q : Why do you want to be a mentor with CompassEdu?

A : I am passionate to share my own experiences not only in applying schools but also in finding jobs in the United State. I've been asking for opinions or advice from many of my friends since in New York and I deeply understand the importance of first-hand information in oversea. Never believe the word 'lucky', since you should know behind that word, there is countless endeavor and insistence. I am a good listener and presenter, and hopefully in one day I have the honor to provide straightforward and useful advice to you.
