  有问必答

Q : How do you choose the best postgraduate program to apply for? What factors should be considered?

A : It is flexible for electrical engineers to make their postgraduate plans, benefiting from the interdisciplinary nature of the subject. After graduation, many electric engineers start their career in innovative technological firms or research laboratories. Nevertheless, many other engineers switch to the financial sector or other interesting fields. I would say that the main thing that you should consider is what your goal is. Electrical engineering offers many opportunities and it is up to you to take advantages of them.

Q : Briefly talk about what you can do to help our students who completed their undergraduate studies in Mainland China and are about to apply for studying abroad

A : I am very familiar with the graduate school application in every aspect. I can offer advice for picking out the right schools, reaching out to the professors, and finalizing the personal statement. In particular, I can share with you my successful application of getting into top-notch schools. Besides the application itself, I am more than happy to share my life at MIT with you as well. I believe my experience and knowledge would be beneficial to your application and it would be a tremendous pleasure helping you achieving your dream.

Q : When applying for a Ph.D program in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, what are the most important capabilities or skills our applicants should focus on?

A : Applicant for Ph.D. program should address his or her research interests and ability to conduct independent research. The difference between a Ph.D. and a master program is its requirement for research. A typical strong applicant is usually very determined and well motivated to perform research. Additionally, an excellent academic record would be a plus, but not absolutely essential.
